This organisation plays an important role in supporting local communities through pastoral, charitable, and outreach services.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Accounts Officer to join a centralised finance team.

About the Role
Reporting to the Accounting Team Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions across multiple entities within a structured and service-oriented environment. This role suits someone who enjoys a mix of transactional accounting, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process accounts payable invoices and execute payments via EFT and BPAY
  • Ensure all invoices are appropriately authorised prior to payment
  • Receipt incoming funds and maintain accurate financial records
  • Manage general ledger transactions and maintain entity accounts
  • Prepare quarterly financial returns
  • Reconcile bank accounts and produce monthly financial reports
  • Monitor and record investment account movements
  • Liaise regularly with stakeholders to follow up outstanding invoices and receipting
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including updating procedures
  • Provide support and guidance on finance processes to internal staff
About You
You are a proactive and reliable accounting professional who takes pride in accuracy and efficiency. You are comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and thrive in a collaborative, service-focused environment.

To be successful, you will have:
  • Experience in accounting or finance administration roles
  • Experience using accounting systems (TechnologyOne experience is desirable but not essential)
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles and basic taxation requirements
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong time management and organisational abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A professional, approachable manner with a strong customer service focus
