Associate Lawyer - Global Financial Markets

The Role
The firm is seeking an Australian qualified Associate Lawyer to join its Global Financial Markets team on a full time permanent basis. Working with partners and senior lawyers locally and overseas, the successful candidate will:
- Advise financial institutions and corporates on a wide range of global financial markets and international capital markets transactions
- Work on complex funding arrangements, capital markets issuances and cross border documentation
- Support clients with risk management matters including derivatives and structured products
- Contribute to work in growing areas such as sustainable finance and digital bond transactions
- Draft, review and negotiate a variety of transaction documents with precision and commercial insight
- Coordinate with colleagues across practices and jurisdictions to deliver seamless service
- Assist with business development, client pitches and thought leadership
- Participate in knowledge sharing and contribute to team development
This role provides exposure to high profile transactions, cross border work and early opportunities to build strong client relationships.
The Candidate
- Australian admission with approximately 3-5 years PQE gained in a top tier or highly regarded international firm
- Experience in global financial markets, international capital markets or closely aligned banking and finance work
- Strong academic results and excellent legal analysis skills
- High level drafting ability and strong attention to detail
- A proactive, resilient and curious mindset, with a commitment to ongoing learning
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships
- Commercial acumen and an interest in financial markets and economic trends
- Sound judgment, integrity and professionalism
