The Role
The firm is seeking an Associate or early Senior Associate with a minimum of 2 years’ PAE to join its Planning, Environment & Climate Change team in Sydney. This role offers a diverse mix of advisory and disputes work, including planning law, project approvals, property development, heritage issues, compulsory land acquisition, and environmental matters such as contaminated land and pollution licensing. The successful candidate will work closely with a highly regarded partner and experienced team members, gaining exposure to complex matters and contributing to strategic solutions for clients. This is a growth role with genuine opportunities for career progression.

The Candidate
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
  • Minimum 2 years’ PAE, ideally from a large or reputable law firm.
  • Strong litigation experience; backgrounds in property or construction law will also be considered.
  • Excellent academic record (minimum high credit average).
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
