A rare opportunity to join a growing Litigation and Dispute Resolution team within a leading national commercial practice. This role offers complex disputes work, real courtroom exposure and clear pathways for development across Associate, Senior Associate and Special Counsel levels.

The Role
Due to expansion, the firm is seeking multiple hires at Associate, Senior Associate and Special Counsel level. Working full time in the Sydney office, the successful candidates will:
• Manage a broad portfolio of commercial litigation including contract disputes, competition and consumer law matters, corporate disputes, banking and finance litigation, IP disputes and large scale debt recovery.
• Draft complex affidavits, submissions, evidence and correspondence.
• Lead contested interlocutory applications and engage with NSW courts.
• Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to a high performing team environment.
• Apply disciplined time recording, document protocols and matter management processes.
• Collaborate closely with senior principals while maintaining autonomy on files.
• Focus on delivering high quality litigation outcomes, with BD expectations remaining low.
Insolvency and class action focused backgrounds are not aligned with the needs of this team.

The Candidate
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
• Between 3+ years PAE in commercial litigation.
• Background in a mid tier or top tier environment with exposure to complex matters.
• Strong drafting skills and confidence with contested interlocutory work.
• NSW litigation experience including familiarity with relevant legislation and court procedures.
• A calm, senior presence with the ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
• Career stability and commitment to full time in office work (with some wfh flexibility following probation).
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Alignment with a team that values high standards, technical rigour and a supportive culture.
