Clinical Consultant - Orthopaedic Trauma

  • Opportunity for development into an Associate Territory Manager role 
  • 40 hours per week with a mostly predictable schedule
    • Occasional early starts or late finishes depending on surgery times
    • Flexibility to balance hours across the week
  • Hourly rate: $45–$50 + 8% holiday pay
  • Auckland-based role | Regular regional travel, including Hawke’s Bay and Taranaki
  • Occasional overnight travel required
  • Own vehicle required (travel allowance provided)

We’re supporting a global medical devices organisation in orthopaedic trauma, and they’re looking for a clinically minded, relationship driven professional to join their Auckland team on a temporary basis (for around 6 months), with genuine potential to grow into a sales role.

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
This position has been created to support the team during a transition period and ensure continuity of service across hospital customers. It offers exposure to the medical devices industry without the immediate pressure of sales targets, giving you time to build confidence, product knowledge, and strong clinical relationships. For the right person, this role can become a pathway into an Associate Territory Manager position.

What you’ll actually be doing
This is a clinically focused position supporting orthopaedic trauma products used in surgical settings.
You’ll be:
• Supporting surgeons and theatre teams during orthopaedic trauma cases (plates, screws, fracture fixation)
• Acting as a trusted product and clinical resource in hospitals
• Ensuring stock, implants, and deliveries are exactly where they need to be
• Building strong, long-term relationships with nurses, surgeons, and hospital staff
• Learning the commercial side of the business gradually, alongside experienced reps

Mōu | About you
• Comes from a clinical or medical background (nurse, physio, paramedic, neuroscience, etc.)
• Is a natural communicator and relationship builder
• Is curious about medical devices or sales, but wants to develop foundations before jumping into a sales role. 
• Is motivated, coachable, and open to learning something new
• Enjoys autonomy, travel, and working in fast paced environments

Sales experience is not essential.
Orthopaedics experience is a bonus but not required for the right person.

Training & support
You’ll receive a structured onboarding period, including online learning and in‑field training, followed by ongoing support from experienced Territory Managers. There’s a clear development plan in place if you decide the sales pathway is right for you.
