This opportunity is ideal for lawyers seeking high quality complex commercial disputes work within a collaborative and well resourced national firm environment. The successful candidate will join a cohesive team that offers both autonomy and support while working on significant matters across class actions, commercial litigation, and restructuring and insolvency related disputes.

The Role
The successful candidate will join the broader dispute resolution group in Sydney and contribute to a range of sophisticated commercial matters including class actions and restructuring and insolvency disputes. Duties will include
• Managing and assisting on complex commercial litigation for institutional and major private clients
• Working on class action proceedings including research, drafting, discovery and evidence preparation
• Acting in restructuring and insolvency related matters involving administrations, liquidations, recovery actions and related disputes
• Drafting pleadings, advices, affidavits and correspondence
• Conducting detailed legal research and analysis
• Liaising with counsel, experts and other stakeholders
• Attending mediations, conferences and court events as required
• Collaborating with partners and senior lawyers while developing confidence and independence in managing workflow

The Candidate
The firm is seeking a genuine and grounded individual who brings professionalism, initiative and a positive team mindset. The ideal candidate will demonstrate
• Between 1-5yrs PAE in commercial litigation (do not apply if you have less than 1yr PAE)
• A minimum credit average in law studies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High level analytical skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a fast paced environment
• Proven ability to manage competing deadlines and maintain organisation under pressure
• Commercial acumen and confidence in client interactions
• A down to earth and personable approach with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships
Candidates with specific interest or experience in class actions or restructuring and insolvency will be highly regarded.
