Join a global medical technology organisation committed to improving healthcare outcomes. This part-time Field Service Engineer role is based in Christchurch, offering hands-on work with specialist equipment in hospital and clinical environments.

Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role
Working three days per week, you’ll support preventative maintenance, servicing and testing of medical devices across the Christchurch region. This is a practical, field-based role where you’ll operate independently, ensuring equipment remains safe, compliant and fully functional.
You’ll work closely with healthcare teams, delivering responsive technical support while managing your own schedule and priorities. Regional travel is a regular part of the role.

Ngā kawenga | Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance and servicing on medical equipment
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical faults
  • Conduct electrical safety testing and ensure compliance standards are met
  • Maintain accurate documentation and service records
  • Provide timely technical support to hospital stakeholders
  • Manage service schedules and workload priorities effectively
  • Escalate technical issues when required and collaborate with internal teams
  • Ensure all service activities align with quality and regulatory requirements

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills & Experience
  • A restricted electrical licence (minimum requirement)
  • Experience in electrical safety testing for medical devices is highly regarded
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical and/or mechanical systems
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload
  • Confident communicator with a customer-focused mindset
  • Full driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the Christchurch region
