A leading construction and engineering organisation is seeking a proactive Financial Accountant to support its finance team during a busy period. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a project-driven environment, picks up new processes quickly, and enjoys contributing to continuous improvement.

About the Role
In this hands-on role, you will support core accounting activities and ensure the integrity of financial information across the business. You’ll work closely with project and corporate teams to deliver accurate month-end outcomes and play a key part in maintaining strong financial controls.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with month‑end processing, including journals, allocations, reconciliations and reporting
Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure high-quality financial data
Support treasury tasks such as cashflow reporting, interest calculations and bank reconciliation guidance
Prepare and review customer invoices and provide backup support to AR when needed
Assist with internal and external reporting requirements, including consolidation and statutory financial
Respond to external audit queries and support compliance activities
Identify opportunities to refine processes, improve efficiency and strengthen controls
Provide day‑to‑day guidance to the Assistant Accountant

What You’ll Bring

Degree-qualified, CA/CPA qualified or working towards
Strong financial accounting capability, with SAP experience essential
Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with complex data
Able to adapt quickly, work across shifting priorities and operate in a fast‑moving environment
Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
A mindset focused on improvement, accuracy and disciplined delivery
