Interim Financial Controller - 3 month
We’re seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to support a leading aged care organisation through a critical transition period. This 3โmonth contract requires an immediate start and deep expertise in Aged Care finance, compliance, and the new Aged Care Act requirements. Key Responsibilities
Lead the finance function during a transition period, providing guidance, mentoring and dayโtoโday leadership to the accounting team.Drive an efficient and accurate monthโend close, ensuring highโquality financial reporting, reconciliations and statutory compliance.
Oversee the preparation and delivery of financial and statutory reports, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and aged care regulatory requirements.
Review, map and assess key financial processes to identify risks, inefficiencies and compliance gaps.
Develop and implement a practical, prioritised process improvement plan with clear accountabilities and timeframes.
Work closely with the Finance Director to clarify issues, set priorities and embed agreed changes.
Facilitate regular crossโteam working sessions to maintain progress, resolve obstacles and align work to regulatory expectations.
Support restoration and strengthening of compliance across financial systems, reporting and aged care governance requirements.
Assist with implementing improvements and embedding new practices within the team.
About You
CA or CPA qualified with significant experience at Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar senior level.
Mandatory Aged Care industry experience with strong understanding of the new Aged Care Act requirements.
10+ years in finance with proven capability in process improvement, compliance, and change delivery.
Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
