About the Company
An established and growing business within the construction and building products sector is seeking a driven Business Development Representative to join their Western Sydney team. This is a genuine growth role suited to someone early in their sales career who is looking to step into a field-based position, build strong client relationships, and take ownership of a defined territory.
With a structured onboarding program and ongoing support, this role offers a clear pathway to develop your commercial capability and progress within a high-performing sales environment.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of a defined territory with a clear mandate to drive growth through new business acquisition.
While you’ll inherit a small portfolio of existing customers, the majority of your time will be spent in-market prospecting, opening doors, and converting new opportunities. This is a hands-on, front-line sales role where success comes from consistency, resilience, and your ability to build relationships from the ground up.
  • Developing and growing relationships with existing customers
  • Proactively identifying and converting new business opportunities
  • Undertaking regular cold outreach and on-the-ground prospecting
  • Attending client meetings and site visits across your territory
  • Managing your sales pipeline and activity through CRM
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure strong service delivery
About You
This role will suit someone early in their sales career who is motivated, commercially aware, and keen to get out from behind the desk and into a field-based position. You don’t need to come from a polished external sales background — but you do need the right attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn.
You’re likely to bring:
  • Exposure to the construction, building materials, or trade environment
  • Previous experience in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles
  • Confidence in picking up the phone and initiating conversations
  • Strong communication skills and a natural ability to build rapport
  • A proactive, self-driven approach with a focus on results
