Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role
Sitting within the People & Culture team, you’ll provide practical health, safety and wellbeing advice and support across a multi-site environment. A key focus will be ACC and injury management, alongside incident and near-miss management, risk management, wellbeing initiatives and reporting. You’ll use data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement, working closely with managers and Health & Safety Representatives to turn insights into practical action. As the role develops, you’ll also spend time across care homes, building capability and supporting consistent health and safety practices.
Ngā kawenga | Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support ACC cases, injury management and safe, sustainable return-to-work plans
- Partner with managers to identify, assess and manage workplace health and safety risks
- Strengthen incident and near-miss reporting, investigations and corrective actions
- Analyse injury, incident and health and safety trends to identify opportunities for improvement
- Support Health & Safety Representatives and managers to build capability and confidence
- Coordinate wellbeing initiatives and support ongoing wellbeing activities
- Keep up to date with health and safety legislation and support appropriate policy and system updates
- Provide meaningful health, safety and wellbeing reporting and insights to leaders and governance groups

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills & Experience
- Solid health and safety advisory experience, including risk management, corrective actions and improving health and safety systems
- Working knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation and WorkSafe guidance
- Understanding of ACC and workplace injury management processes
- Experience analysing health and safety data and trends to inform practical improvements
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively across different stakeholder groups
- Multi-site experience is valuable; healthcare or aged-care exposure is an advantage but not essential
