📍 Sydney CBD 🕒 8:00am – 4:00pm | Full-time, Office-based 5 days 💰 $40 - $45 an hour + super
The Opportunity
We’re partnering with a well-established Group Training Organisation (GTO) based in the heart of Sydney CBD, currently seeking a Payroll Officer to join their close-knit, supportive team.
This is a temp-to-perm opportunity (minimum 6 months temp) with an immediate start, offering full training and handover from the current incumbent before they depart.
You’ll initially support payroll operations, with a clear pathway to take on more ownership after the first few months as payroll duties are transitioned to you from the accounts team member currently leading payroll.
The Role
- Processing and supporting weekly payroll for ~240 apprentices
- Reviewing and double-checking payroll data before processing
- Managing timesheets via an integrated system
- Assisting with overtime, allowances, and deduction calculations
- Supporting payroll-related queries and general administration
- Ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant agreements (EBA exposure beneficial)
About You
- We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in payroll (even at a junior level)
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, small team environment
- Reliable and able to commit to an office-based role (5 days/week)
- Experience with the system Workforce One and exposure to GTOs or complex payroll environments (EBAs) very desirable
