Sales Manager - Groups & Events

A leading lifestyle hospitality group is seeking an experienced Sales Manager, Groups & Events to drive revenue growth across group, MICE and corporate segments within a flagship Sydney property. This role is ideally suited to a commercially minded hospitality sales professional who thrives on building relationships, securing new business and delivering strong revenue outcomes in a competitive market.

The Opportunity: Reporting into the commercial leadership team, you will be responsible for generating and converting group and events business, managing key client relationships and identifying new revenue opportunities across corporate, conference and event markets.
Working closely with revenue, events and operations teams, you will ensure a seamless client journey from initial enquiry through to event delivery while consistently driving occupancy, event revenue and market share.
  • Develop and implement sales plans to achieve group and events revenue targets
  • Proactively source, qualify and convert new corporate, MICE and group business opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event agencies and industry partners
  • Manage key accounts to maximise repeat business and long-term revenue growth
  • Conduct client meetings, site inspections and sales presentations
  • Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts and manage the sales pipeline through to conversion
  • Monitor market activity, competitor performance and industry trends to identify opportunities
  • Collaborate with revenue management to optimise pricing and maximise profitability
  • Represent the business at networking events, trade shows and industry functions
  • Maintain accurate CRM activity, forecasting and reporting
About You: Minimum 3+ years' experience in hotel or hospitality sales, with a focus on groups, events, MICE or corporate segments. Proven track record of achieving sales and revenue targets. Strong understanding of the Sydney corporate and events market. Outstanding relationship-building and stakeholder management skills. Commercially minded with strong negotiation and influencing capability. Highly organised with excellent time management and attention to detail. Confident communicator with strong presentation and proposal-writing skills. Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments. Full working rights in Australia.
