The Role

Sydney based senior role within a leading general insurance team
Working across both insurance and government client portfolios
Managing complex casualty matters including professional indemnity, construction and general liability claims
Acting on significant and high value matters including catastrophic losses
Providing insurance policy advice and coverage dispute support
Representing clients in negotiations, mediations and court proceedings
Running matters autonomously with responsibility for strategy and outcomes
Supervising, mentoring and developing junior lawyers within the team
Working closely with a leading NSW insurance and government partner

The Candidate

Admitted lawyer with a minimum of 5yrs post admission experience
Hold a current New South Wales practising certificate
Strong background in casualty insurance, professional indemnity or general liability matters
Experience with insurance policy advice and coverage disputes
Sound knowledge of Australian tort law, civil procedure and relevant legislation
Proven ability to supervise and mentor junior lawyers
Strong research, analytical and problem solving skills
Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
Commercially minded with the ability to negotiate and advise strategically
