2. The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Associate to join a high performing Investment Funds team based in Sydney.
The successful candidate will work across a diverse range of investment funds and financial services matters, advising sophisticated clients on fund establishment, regulatory compliance and product innovation.
  • Responsibilities include: Advising on fund formation and structuring across a broad range of asset classes
  • Drafting and negotiating constitutions, trust deeds, limited partnership deeds, management agreements, disclosure documents and side letters
  • Advising on exchange traded funds and other listed investment vehicles
  • Providing advice on financial services regulation and innovative investment products
  • Advising on disclosure obligations under the Corporations Act
  • Managing regulatory engagement with ASIC and other regulators
  • Advising on Australian Financial Services Licence requirements and ongoing compliance obligations
  • Assisting clients with governance frameworks and directors’ duties
  • Supporting domestic and international asset managers operating within the Australian regulatory environment
  • Working closely with colleagues across multiple jurisdictions on cross border matters
3. The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a commercially minded and technically strong lawyer who enjoys working collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Requirements include: Approximately 5 to 7+ years post qualification experience in investment funds, financial services or a closely related practice area
  • Strong knowledge of financial services regulation and investment funds structures
  • Previous corporate law experience will be viewed favourably
  • Excellent drafting, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A practical and proactive approach to problem solving
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional client service
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
