The Role
Sydney based Senior Associate role within a labour, employment and workplace safety team
Advising on advisory, transactional and contentious employment matters
Acting on complex industrial relations disputes and employment litigation
Representing employers in unfair dismissal, discrimination and general protections claims
Drafting and negotiating employment contracts, executive arrangements and workplace policies
Advising on compliance, risk management and workforce strategy
Litigating matters in State and Federal courts, tribunals and commissions
Assisting with urgent applications including injunctive relief
Advising on employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions, restructures and business transformation
Supporting workplace health and safety investigations and site based matters
Delivering training programs and contributing to client development initiatives
Working both collaboratively and autonomously on matters
The Candidate
Admitted lawyer with approximately 5-8 years post admission experience
Strong background in employment law, industrial relations and workplace safety
Experience across both front end advisory and contentious employment matters
Trained at a well regarded firm with strong technical capability
Commercially minded with a practical approach to problem solving
Confident dealing directly with clients and managing sensitive matters
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly organised with the ability to manage urgent and competing deadlines
Team oriented and committed to mentoring and collaboration
