A well established plant and equipment hire business is seeking an experienced State Manager to lead and grow its Western Australian operations. The company services a broad range of industries including mining, civil construction and infrastructure, delivering tailored equipment hire and maintenance solutions across the state.
About the Role
This is a senior leadership opportunity responsible for the strategic growth and operational performance of the WA business. The role combines hands on operational management with a strong focus on business development, client engagement and team leadership. You will oversee branch operations while driving new business opportunities across mining, civil infrastructure and energy sectors throughout Western Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive business growth and secure new opportunities across the WA mining and construction sectors
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 contractors
- Develop and execute strategic sales and operational plans to achieve revenue targets
- Oversee the day to day management of a large specialised fleet operation
- Ensure equipment maintenance, compliance and operational standards are maintained
- Lead field service and maintenance operations to minimise customer downtime
- Manage and mentor workshop, sales and administrative teams
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OHS standards and regulations
Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership experience within the hire, rental, transport or heavy vehicle industries
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive revenue growth and manage key accounts
- Experience working within mining, civil or infrastructure environments
- Knowledge of mine spec equipment, heavy vehicles or specialised fleet operations
- Understanding of ISO systems and workplace health and safety legislation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
