THE ROLE
As a Paralegal your duties and responsibilities will include;
- Support solicitors in the day-to-day management of workers’ compensation files from initial instruction through to resolution
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including ILARS application for legal funding, instructions to medico-legal experts, letter of demands to insurers, statements of evidence, briefs to - ------- Counsel and court documents
- Liaise with clients, union officials, medical practitioners, Independent Review Office, and insurers in a professional and empathetic manner
- Undertaking research when required
- Assist with preparing matters for the Personal Injury Commission
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate file notes and documentation using the firm’s practice management system
- Assist to coordinate medical assessments, independent medical examinations (IMEs), and other key appointments
- Conduct file reviews and follow-up on outstanding information, reports, or instructions
- Prepare client correspondence and manage incoming communications
- Assist with compliance to statutory timeframes and procedural requirements under NSW workers’ compensation legislation
- Contribute to a client-first culture and uphold the rights and interests of union members

ABOUT YOU
To be a successful applicant you must;
- Have minimum 2 years experience as a paralegal
- Have minimum 2 years current experience in NSW Workers Compensation experience
- Possess excellent organizational and time management skills
- Have strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Be proficient in legal practice management software and Microsoft Office suite
- Have a proactive approach and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
