Purchasing Manager – Hotels & Hospitality | 6-Month Contract
Sydney CBD base + occasional Western Sydney travel
We’re recruiting for a leading hotel group seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join their team on a 6-month contract. This role supports two well-established properties, with your primary base located in the Sydney CBD.
About the Role:
As the Purchasing Manager, you’ll oversee procurement for two hotel properties, ensuring cost-effective purchasing aligned with brand standards, operational needs, and compliance.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing daily purchasing activities across both properties - including raising purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and liaising with departments for stock needs
  • Supervising store person(s) and overseeing receiving dock operations to ensure smooth inbound logistics and vendor coordination
  • Tendering and negotiating supplier agreements across categories such as food & beverage, operating supplies, maintenance, and housekeeping
  • Reviewing supplier performance, pricing, and service levels; addressing issues proactively to maintain service continuity
  • Analysing purchasing data to support cost-saving initiatives, contract decisions, and budgeting using Excel and SAP
  • Ensuring all purchases meet internal control standards, approvals, and policy compliance (aligned with head office procurement guidelines)
  • Collaborating with department heads to support capital projects and ad-hoc procurement needs
  • Identifying new suppliers and products to support operational improvements or cost efficiencies
  • Maintaining accurate procurement records and supporting monthly reporting for finance and leadership teams
  • On-site presence at Sydney CBD location with occasional travel to second hotel; engaging with team members, vendors, and delivery staff as part of the role
About You:
  • Proven procurement experience in hotels or hospitality
  • Strong Excel skills and working knowledge of SAP or PurchasePlus
  • Confident managing vendor relationships and internal stakeholders
  • Comfortable working on-site full-time
  • Able to commit to a 6-month contract (immediate availability ideal)
  • Able to commute to Parramatta once a week
