The Role
This is a unique opportunity for a Solicitor with 1–3 years’ post-admission experience to take the next step in their legal career. Working within the firm’s highly regarded Insurance team, the role offers exposure to a broad range of complex financial lines and professional indemnity matters. This includes handling disputes involving professional negligence, misleading or deceptive conduct, shareholder oppression, wrongful dismissal, and insurance coverage issues.
The successful candidate will manage professional indemnity claims—particularly on behalf of insurance brokers—across financial lines, public liability, and ISR policies. Key coverage issues such as aggregation, non-disclosure, and notification will also form part of the caseload.
This is a hands-on role, offering involvement in all stages of litigation and dispute resolution. The Solicitor will work closely with a leading Principal, gaining invaluable one-on-one mentoring and exposure to large-scale, high-value, and multi-party disputes.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be:
- A qualified lawyer with 1–3 years post-admission experience.
- Interested in or experienced with financial lines and professional indemnity work.
- Preferably experienced in general insurance litigation, financial lines, or professional indemnity.
- Skilled in managing and analysing complex evidence and data sets.
- A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
- Capable of managing competing priorities and deadlines with confidence.
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently.
- Honest and forthright
- Team-oriented with a helpful, positive attitude
- Professional and personable with strong interpersonal skills
- Attentive listener and proactive problem-solver
