Safety Training Lead, Permanent Full-time, South East Suburbs Melbourne
Reporting to the Group Manager, Safety & Wellbeing, you will play a key role in the roll-out of a new Health & Safety Plan. Your focus will be on delivering effective, compliant, and engaging safety training initiatives that align with ISO45001 and ISO45003 standards, legislative requirements, and internal competency frameworks.
You’ll collaborate closely with safety leaders, systems specialists, and stakeholders across the organisation to build a workforce that is confident, capable, and safety-first.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and delivery of safety training across all business units.
- Support safety communications that promote open, honest dialogue around risk and wellbeing.
- Deliver training on health and safety systems, in partnership with internal leads.
- Coordinate and manage the safety training calendar and ensure compliance timelines are met.
- Engage external training providers (including RTOs) and review their scope for compliance.
- Develop and maintain the Safety Training Matrix and competency frameworks.
- Source online training content that supports the broader Safety & Wellbeing strategy.
- Monitor attendance and escalate non-compliance with support from the H&S admin team.
- Provide reporting and insights on safety training participation and outcomes.
- 5+ years’ experience in a safety training or similar role.
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation, safety systems, and ISO-certified management frameworks.
- Experience working with or within the VET sector and managing RTO relationships.
