The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate (6+ years' PAE) to join the firm’s Intellectual Property & Technology team. This role will see you working alongside market-leading partners on cutting-edge matters for global and national clients, particularly in the technology, media, and consumer sectors.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on IP strategy, enforcement, and commercialisation including trademarks, designs, copyright, and brand protection.
  • Managing IP litigation, including disputes involving misleading or deceptive conduct, passing off, copyright, confidential information, and trade practices.
  • Advising on IT procurement, technology contracts, data licensing and SaaS agreements.
  • Providing counsel on privacy and data protection, cybersecurity compliance, and regulatory risk.
  • Drafting and negotiating IP-rich commercial agreements, including licensing, NDAs, and distribution agreements.
  • Overseeing IP portfolios (domestic and international), including filing and prosecution of trademarks and designs.
  • Playing a lead role in client management, business development, and mentoring junior lawyers.
You will be joining a fast-paced, collegiate, and future-focused team advising on some of the most interesting and emerging issues in tech and IP law.

The Candidate
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
  • 6+ years of post-admission experience in IP, IT, and technology law, ideally from a national or international firm.
  • A strong mix of advisory, transactional and contentious IP experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in privacy and data protection legislation.
  • Solid grounding in consumer law and advertising regulation will be highly regarded.
  • Strong drafting skills, commercial thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Confidence in client engagement and relationship-building.
  • A self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-performing team.
  • A passion for innovation, and an interest in technology, media, or digital disruption.
