The Role

We are seeking Audit Managers, Audit Senior Managers, Audit Assistant Managers, and Audit Seniors to join our client's dedicated audit team in Bolton. These roles are pivotal to delivering high-quality audit assignments from planning to completion, working with a diverse client base. Depending on your experience level, you will lead engagements, manage client relationships, supervise and mentor junior team members, and ensure compliance with the highest auditing standards. These positions are ideal for qualified accountants looking to advance their careers within a forward-thinking and supportive environment.
Across these roles, responsibilities include:
  • Leading and managing audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to firm standards.
  • Acting as a primary client contact, handling queries, building strong relationships, and ensuring clear communication throughout engagements.
  • Supervising, reviewing the work of, and providing constructive feedback to junior team members, supporting their professional development.
  • Preparing and monitoring budgets, tracking time and resources, and addressing variances to ensure project efficiency and adherence to billing targets.
  • Ensuring strict compliance with auditing and accounting standards (including FRS and IFRS) across all engagements.
  • Taking a proactive role in developing and implementing improved audit procedures to enhance workflow and team performance (Senior Manager).
  • Leading on-site audits, coordinating resources, and allocating tasks with clear deadlines (Assistant Manager & Senior).
  • Preparing on-site audit findings reports, identifying risks and areas of concern for senior review (Assistant Manager & Senior).
  • Fostering a positive and collaborative team environment, addressing personnel matters, and offering support across teams.
  • Liaising with Managers, Directors, and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and maximise cross-team working.
  • Performing administrative and ad hoc tasks to facilitate efficient project flow.
The Candidates

Our client is looking for audit professionals who are not just technically proficient but also excellent communicators and natural collaborators. You are highly organised, possess effective time management skills, and take initiative with a strong sense of accountability. You thrive in a team setting, are keen to share knowledge, and are committed to continuous learning and development.

Essentials (across all roles):
  • ACCA/ACA or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in audit and accounts practice, with a solid understanding of quality and regulatory standards.
  • Skilled in managing client relationships and addressing their needs effectively.
Desirables:
  • Familiarity with risk assessment and effective control measures within the audit process.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and suggest practical solutions.
  • Experience with CaseWare and CCH software (beneficial but not required).
