Lawyers (3+yrs PAE) - Insurance Litigation (Multiple Roles)

The Firm
A leading national insurance and commercial litigation law firm with over 300 staff across five states, this firm has built its reputation on technical excellence, collegiality, and a strong down-to-earth culture. Known for its award-winning expertise in insurance law—including being named Insurance Specialist Firm of the Year —the firm is also certified as a Great Place to Work and a Family Friendly Workplace. Its Sydney office is growing under dynamic new leadership, with a renewed focus on efficiency, transparency, and internal progression.

The Role
Due to team growth, internal promotions, and strategic resourcing, several roles are now open in the firm’s Sydney office, across three key practice areas:

  • Professional Indemnity (3+ PAE)
  • Construction/Property (4+ PAE) – ideally with experience in insurance and/or commercial litigation
  • Financial Lines / Coverage (3+ PAE)
Each role involves:
  • Managing your own file load across a mix of high-quality matters.
  • Working collaboratively with Partners, clients, and counsel.
  • Providing advice on complex policy, liability, and quantum issues.
  • Mentoring junior lawyers.
  • Meeting very reasonable billable targets.
Support teams and shared services are in place to allow lawyers to focus on legal work rather than admin.

The Candidate
Ideal candidates will bring:
  • A minimum of 3 years’ post admission experience in insurance law, professional indemnity, construction/property disputes, or financial lines.
  • A commercial, client-focused approach and confidence managing files.
  • Strong drafting skills and the ability to advise on both coverage and defence issues.
  • A team-focused mindset—personality and professionalism matter.
  • Senior candidates should have prior experience mentoring junior staff and taking on leadership responsibility.
Transcripts may be requested for junior-level applicants.

Benefits
  • Work-from-home flexibility (team-based and role-dependent).
  • National firm infrastructure with local team autonomy and close-knit culture.
  • Fast-moving interview process.
  • Highly competitive referral bonuses.
  • Discretionary bonuses linked to performance.
  • Top-tier wellbeing, family-friendly, and professional development programs.
  • Access to elite systems (Elite 3E, iManage).
  • Active internal promotion pathways and secondment opportunities.
This is a unique opportunity for lawyers seeking high-quality work, career growth, and flexibility.
