Litigation Lawyer - Commercial Disputes & Insolvency (2yrs+ PAE)

As part of ongoing growth, the firm is looking to expand its litigation practice with the addition of multiple lawyers who thrive in complex commercial litigation and insolvency matters.

The Role
The successful candidates will join a dynamic team working closely with experienced senior practitioners on a range of disputes and restructuring matters. Responsibilities include:

Commercial Litigation:

  • Acting on matters involving breach of contract, tort claims, shareholder and partnership disputes.
  • Drafting and reviewing pleadings, affidavits, and court documents.
  • Appearing in or instructing on matters in the Supreme and Federal Courts.
  • Developing litigation strategy and providing commercial dispute resolution advice.
Insolvency & Restructuring:
  • Advising creditors, debtors, directors, and insolvency professionals on external administrations and restructuring options.
  • Acting in matters involving liquidations, voluntary administrations, and bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Drafting and negotiating deeds of company arrangement, winding-up applications, and related insolvency documents.
Client & Team Engagement:
  • Managing client relationships with regular communication and commercially pragmatic advice.
  • Collaborating with the broader team on high-profile matters.
  • Mentoring juniors and participating in internal training and knowledge-sharing.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A minimum of 2 years’ post-admission experience in commercial litigation and/or insolvency.
  • Strong drafting skills and courtroom confidence.
  • A commercial mindset with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Admitted to practice in NSW and eligible to appear in Federal jurisdictions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative attitude.
  • Experience using legal tech tools (e.g., Actionstep, Lexis Nexis, Docusign) is desirable but not essential.
