SA / SC (6+ PAE) - Litigation & Dispute Resolution

The Firm
This well-established national law firm has a highly regarded Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. Operating within the firm’s largest division, the team is known for its technical strength, complex matters, and collaborative culture. With a strong mid-to-top tier client base, the practice advises across a wide spectrum of commercial disputes.

The Role
Due to growth, the firm is seeking two senior lawyers to join the Sydney Litigation & Dispute Resolution team. The roles are ideally suited to lawyers at Senior Associate or Special Counsel level(though highly experienced Associates will also be considered).
Working closely with 3 Principals, you will:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of commercial disputes, including contract disputes, competition & consumer matters, banking & finance litigation, debt recovery, IP disputes, and corporate law (including directors’ duties and shareholder disputes).
  • Supervise, mentor, and guide junior lawyers, given the team’s current structure.
  • Take a hands-on role in complex matters, working with a broad range of clients.
  • Collaborate closely with senior colleagues while maintaining autonomy over your own matters.
This role is not focused on business development, though the ability to maintain or grow client relationships will be highly regarded.

The Candidate
To be successful, you will ideally have:
  • Minimum 6 years’ post-admission experience in commercial litigation, gained in a mid, national or top-tier firm.
  • A strong grounding in NSW court procedure, legislation, and practice.
  • Proven experience running complex disputes independently.
  • Demonstrated career stability and progression.
  • Strong time recording, document management, and matter management practices from a comparable firm environment.
  • An interest in mentoring and developing junior lawyers.
  • Excellent communication, drafting, and problem-solving skills.
Please note: Class actions and insolvency backgrounds are not suited to this role.
Benefits
  • Competitive market remuneration, dependent on experience.
  • Work with 3 highly respected Principals on high-quality, complex matters.
  • A strong, stable team environment with structured support.
  • Career development pathways at Senior Associate and Special Counsel levels.
  • Central Sydney office location – this team is office-based full time (with flexibility considered after probation for the right candidate).
