The litigation team is highly regarded for representing plaintiffs in some of Australia’s most significant class actions, often working with international litigation funders and leading barristers.
2. The Role
The firm is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate (3-7 years PAE) to join its Disputes & Litigation practice in Sydney. The role involves working directly with partners and senior lawyers on large-scale, complex litigation and funded class actions, including matters in the Federal Court. Responsibilities will include:
- Running significant components of class action proceedings and large corporate disputes.
- Drafting pleadings, affidavits and other court documents.
- Managing large volumes of discovery and evidence.
- Liaising with clients, funders, experts and barristers.
- Contributing to the development of litigation strategy and project management across high-value disputes.
The ideal candidate will be a strong commercial litigator who thrives on complex, large-scale matters and has an interest in class actions and funded litigation. Key requirements include:
- 3-7 years post-admission experience in ANY disputes practice (e.g. commercial litigation, insurance litigation, planning & environment disputes, etc.).
- Exposure to large matters or class actions, with strong project management skills is desired though not necessary.
- Excellent academic results and technical legal ability.
- Strong drafting and written advocacy skills.
- A team-oriented approach and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in the Federal Court will be highly regarded.
