THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant to join the busy Building & Construction team. This is a pivotal role supporting a Partner, Senior Associate, Associate, and Lawyer on a mix of front and back-end construction matters.
This role goes beyond standard legal support - it includes paralegal style responsibilities, making it ideal for someone with strong experience or a law student in the early stages of their degree. Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting, formatting, and proofreading legal documents and correspondence;
- Assisting with preparation of court documents, briefs, contracts, and bundles;
- File management across large and complex matters;
- Diary, email, and travel management for fee earners;
- Tracking deadlines and assisting with matter progression;
- Billing, timesheet management, and general administrative support; and
- Supporting the team with ad hoc tasks and legal research as required.
You’ll be an experienced and confident Legal Assistant with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a litigation or construction based practice. To thrive in this role, you will bring:
- Previous experience in construction, commercial litigation, or similar;
- Confidence working with high-level stakeholders and multiple fee earners;
- Excellent document preparation and file management skills;
- Strong organisational abilities and a proactive mindset;
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines; and
- An interest in construction law or early-stage legal studies is a bonus.
