Tips For Working From Home

Jessica Hickey • May 18, 2020

1) Set up your space with as much natural lighting as possible. Best case scenario, you can see the sky. Not only does this assist with your internal body clock, it reduces eye strain dramatically.

2) Take plenty of breaks. There is no way you can be productive by just sitting at your desk for eight hours each day, so make sure every 45 mins to one hour you walk away from your desk to have a break.

3) Start your day with a podcast so you have some voices chatting away. Here’s the p2p teams favourite podcasts to get you started:

  • Table Manners
  • Hamish & Andy
  • The Daily Stuff You Should Know

4) Have a dedicated work space. Keep the space away from anywhere you might relax or socialise in OR pack it away at the end of the day so that you aren’t tempted to check emails before bed.

5) Get outside! Enjoy some fresh air and sunshine, a brisk walk can really change your morning fog into morning inspiration.

6) Stay connected with your work team and friends. Keep on top of your mental health by communicating with each other – it's more important now than ever!

7) Take a lunch break. Make sure you put a lunch break in your diary and don’t book over it! Turn your phone on silent and take that time for yourself.

8) Set a plan. Setting a plan in the morning is a great way to help you get motivated when working from home. Give yourself 5 easy things to do for every 1 challenging thing you have to do, it helps to break up the day.
