Payroll Manager

This dedicated Not-For-Profit Organisation committed to improving the lives of disadvantaged children across Australia provide critical support within the community to help children overcome adversity and build brighter futures, require the immediate assistance of an experienced Payroll Manager to join the Finance team on a permanent basis. You will lead a team of five payroll officers and be responsible for the accurate and timely weekly payroll processing and reporting.   Based in Brisbane CBD, you will enjoy a well developed employee benefits program, a supportive leadership team and are able to maximise salary sacrificing benefits to add to the overall package. 

The Role 
Reporting to the Shared Services Manager, the responsibilities of the role will include, 
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of weekly payroll 
  • Review and approve all payroll payments 
  • Lead, support and manage the payroll team, providing technical advice, monitoring tasks, setting goals and performing regular appraisals 
  • Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and enterprise agreements 
  • Manage the preparation of all State and Federal tax obligations including PAYG tax, Payroll tax and Superannuation Guarantee contributions  
  • Develop and document business processes and policies to maintain and strengthen controls 
  • Support the annual financial audit and statutory reporting process 
  • Collaborate with the wider finance team on a range of projects 
  • Develop and nurture a culture of continuous improvement in delivering systems and process improvements 
  • Operate within the internal control framework
About You 
The successful applicant will have/be, 
  • Experienced in a leadership role 
  • Experienced in a end to end, high volume payroll environment 
  • Strong understanding of Modern Awards and industry regulations 
  • Advanced computer literacy, Technology One system advantageous 
  • Experienced in payroll reporting and compliance 
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • A team player who is service orientated
