The Role
Reporting to the Shared Services Manager, the responsibilities of the role will include,
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of weekly payroll
- Review and approve all payroll payments
- Lead, support and manage the payroll team, providing technical advice, monitoring tasks, setting goals and performing regular appraisals
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and enterprise agreements
- Manage the preparation of all State and Federal tax obligations including PAYG tax, Payroll tax and Superannuation Guarantee contributions
- Develop and document business processes and policies to maintain and strengthen controls
- Support the annual financial audit and statutory reporting process
- Collaborate with the wider finance team on a range of projects
- Develop and nurture a culture of continuous improvement in delivering systems and process improvements
- Operate within the internal control framework
The successful applicant will have/be,
- Experienced in a leadership role
- Experienced in a end to end, high volume payroll environment
- Strong understanding of Modern Awards and industry regulations
- Advanced computer literacy, Technology One system advantageous
- Experienced in payroll reporting and compliance
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A team player who is service orientated
