This role focuses on producing accurate and efficient CAD representations of sculptural and design-led products, ensuring clients receive a high-quality experience during the early stages of their commissioning journey. Reporting to the Design and Estimation Manager, you will be responsible for creating detailed design and manufacturing drawings that support right-first-time production within a multidisciplinary fabrication environment.
Please note, this role is 5 days per week in the office so please only apply if you can commit to this.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of the materials, processes and techniques used across the organisation.
- Demonstrate interest and competence in the design and manufacture of lighting, furniture and sculptural pieces, particularly those involving metalwork from cast to forged components.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues across departments, from sales teams to workshop fabricators, and conduct yourself professionally in occasional client-facing interactions.
- Maintain precise attention to detail in design, finish and form, and manage drawing databases and shared assets efficiently.
- Produce bespoke drawings and contribute to concept sketching and ideation for commissioned work in line with design guidelines.
- Prepare design and manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor, and interpret architectural drawings provided by clients.
- Review prototypes and in-progress work against manufacturing drawings, flagging discrepancies where necessary.
- Draft clear installation and aftercare documentation for clients.
- Liaise with fabrication teams to ensure drawings are fully understood and aligned with client expectations.
- Work within departmental KPIs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

- Proficiency with Autodesk Product Design & Manufacturing Collection (Inventor Professional, AutoCAD) and the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Willingness to work on-site and collaborate with colleagues across multiple departments.
Desirable Experience
- Working with Bills of Materials.
- Confident hand sketching and openness to feedback during design development.
- Experience with Rhino 3D and rendering software such as KeyShot (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of working with additional materials such as timber, glass, stone, ceramics and textiles.
- Competence with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, but applications from emerging talent are also welcomed.
Qualifications
- Ideally have BA(Hons) or BSc in Product Design, Architecture or a related discipline - or have relevant industry experience.
