As a Fleet Maintenance Officer, you will maintain vehicles and associated equipment operated by Ambulance Victoria to maximise operational availability and performance. This role is critical in ensuring vehicles meet service standards and are ready for deployment across Victoria.
This role is FULL TIME for 2 MONTHS. Working 8am - 4pm
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and maintain accurate records using the Fleet Management Information System (FMIS)
- Plan and allocate repair and service requirements within AV workshops
- Ensure vehicles comply with AV service schedules and safety standards
- Maintain mechanical condition and operational safety of stretchers and wheelchairs
- Fit and repair communication equipment such as radios and telephones
- Liaise with Fleet Operations Coordinator, Team Managers, and Communications Centre for efficient vehicle changeovers
- Conduct audits and maintain stock levels for efficient maintenance
- Rotate vehicles within designated areas to maximise service life
- Uphold health, safety, and wellbeing standards, reporting hazards promptly
- Minimum qualification would be Certificate 3 in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
- Computer literacy with Microsoft programs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexibly within tight schedules
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to ongoing training and technical development
- Current Victorian Driver Licence (Light Rigid or above preferred)
- Immediate start for the right candidate
