The Role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the responsibilities of the role will include,
- Mentor and provide direction to payroll officers
- Accurate and timely processing of end-to-end payroll
- Calculation and process termination pay, Workcover, paid parental leave and deductions.
- Preparation of payroll reports
- Maintenance of employee and payroll master files
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and enterprise agreements
- Preparation of all State and Federal tax obligations including PAYG tax, Payroll tax and Superannuation Guarantee contributions
- Ensure timely resolution of payroll queries
- Collaborate with the wider finance team on a range of projects
- Proactively identify continuous improvement opportunities
The successful applicant will have/be,
- Relevant experience in similar roles
- Experience in dealing with the ATO, Services Australia and Superannuation clearing houses
- Experience in a high-volume payroll environment is desirable
- Knowledge of Modern Awards and other state and industry legislation
- Leadership experience is desirable
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office
- Technology One experience is advantageous
- Community based organisation
